Taking photos in Rome
This session took place in the early morning, starting in Saint Peter’s Square on the day of the Papal Audience reserved for newlyweds. The couple arrived wearing their marital attire as used for their ceremony. This continuity is what defines Novelli Sposi photography. The day did not end with the papal audience. Instead, it extended into the city with a splendid wed photo shoot!
Newlyweds at Saint Peter’s Square
Saint Peter’s Square was already active, but still quieter than later in the day. Newlyweds attending the Papal Audience are welcomed into a dedicated area, which makes this moment visually and symbolically different from a regular Vatican visit. From a photographic point of view, this is where Novelli Sposi photography takes on its real meaning. The context is unrepeatable. The attire is not worn to recreate something, but because the martiony is still unfolding!

After the Papal Audience
Once the audience ended, we continued with a couple photoshoot outside the Vatican city area. This transition marks a shift in rhythm. The formal setting gives way to a slower pace, without changing clothes or interrupting the continuity of the day.
Many couples choose to extend this moment into what feels like a natural continuation of their day of matrimony. In this case, the walk moved through quieter streets and open spaces, allowing the city to appear gradually rather than all at once. This approach is often chosen by couples who combine their experience with a honeymoon in Roma, keeping photography integrated into the day rather than separated from it.

Walking the City in Wedding Attire
Moving through the capital in matrimonial attire clothes creates an unavoidable interaction with the city. People notice, react briefly, then move on. For Sposi Novelli wedding photography, these moments matter because they place the couple inside a real, functioning environment. The photographs are built around simple actions: walking side by side, adjusting a dress, crossing a street, stopping for a moment in the shade.
This way of working reflects a broader approach to photography in the city, similar to how a roman photographer observes light, space, and timing rather than constructing scenes.
