Proposing in Val d’Orcia

The car pulled up along the Baccoleno roadway in Val d’Orcia, where a typical cypress road bends through open farmland and rolling hills. The tuscan photographer was already in position nearby. Having chosen a point with a clear view of the bend and the surrounding landscape. The couple stepped out of the car and walked a few steps to admire the viewpoint. And the when the moment was right. He dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him!

The proposal in Tuscany took place in a very simple way, with the beautiful landscape in the background. The reaction was immediate — surprise, then joy — visible even from a distance. Joy and happiness then carried the couple through the romantic engagement photos that followed!

Portraits on the Hill

After proposing at Baccoleno, we crossed the road and walked up to the small hill with the single tree overlooking Val d’Orcia. From there, the view opened across the landscape. With a light breeze moving through the grass and a sense of quiet that contrasted with the main viewpoint below. It was a simple space to slow down, spend time together, and continue the session with more relaxed tuscan countryside photos. A small swing attached to the tree added a subtle detail to the scene. Giving a few playful moments within the wider view.

Overall, the experience at this panoramic view reflects how nice this region of Italy can be as background for such an important moment. From the first view of the cypress-lined curve to the portraits on the nearby hill. The photoshoot was connect by two really unique spots to be able to capture images of being together and in love in Italy! It is the combination of light, space, and timing that shaped the love story. Leaving a series of images that feel closely connected to Val d’Orcia and its quiet, open atmosphere.
