A Thoughtful Plan in a Classic Roman Location
This Spanish steps proposal in Rome began early in the day. The atmosphere was calm, and light filtered through the narrow streets of the historic center. The couple walked towards the top of the Spanish Steps with a small corgi in a shoulder bag, making the scene even more memorable! The photographer followed closely, keeping a discreet distance. When they reached the perfect spot, with a view over Piazza di Spagna and Via dei Condotti, the proposal took place. The moment was quiet, surrounded by timeless architecture and morning light. It was a beautiful start to a meaningful day!
A Sweet Companion: A Corgi in the City
Personal Touches Make the Moment Unique
The presence of the corgi added a special, personal element to the Rome photoshoot and the entire experience! As we moved through the session, the little dog remained comfortably tucked in the shoulder bag, occasionally poking out to observe the surroundings! Including a pet can add a lighthearted touch to the special moment while also representing a shared life. In this case, it brought smiles from both the couple and those passing by.
Couple Photos at the Trevi Fountain
A Short Walk to Another Iconic Landmark
Right after the engagement, we made our way to the Trevi Fountain for a short couple photo session. It was still early enough to enjoy the location before it became too crowded. The crisp morning light reflected off the white stone and turquoise water. We captured a mix of wide shots and more intimate portraits in front of the fountain’s Baroque backdrop. The short walk between the Steps and the Fountain worked well. It gave us a quick change of scenery without interrupting the flow of the session!
A Sparkling Celebration Back at the Steps
Ending the Session with a Toast of Prosecco
After wrapping up at Trevi, we returned to Piazza di Spagna. The light had shifted slightly by then, adding warmer tones to the square. To mark the moment, the couple opened a chilled bottle of prosecco sparkling wine. They toasted from the top of the steps with the corgi still nestled by their side. This final scene brought everything full circle. The proposal, the walk, the dog, and the toast—all within a short distance in the heart of Rome.

Planning Your Own Proposal in Rome
Practical Advice for a Memorable Experience
If you’re considering a Spanish steps proposal in Rome, it’s best to plan for early in the day. The steps become crowded very quickly, especially in warmer months. Moreover, pairing the location with a nearby spot—like the Trevi Fountain or Villa Borghese—helps build a complete and visually rich experience. Adding small, meaningful elements such as a pet, a toast, or a walk through historic streets makes the session more personal and visually engaging.
