From the Roman Forum to the Colosseum
The Eternal City, is a place where ancient history meets modern charm. As a Rome family photographer, we are always excited to capture the special moments of families visiting this incredible city. In this blog post, we’ll take you through a recent photography session that took place in the heart of the roman city.
A Personalized Photography Session
Our session began on a sunny early afternoon in Piazza del Campidoglio, with the stunning Roman Forum as our backdrop. We took advantage of the soft afternoon light to capture some beautiful group portraits. But before doing so, we met with the photographer in Rome by this beautiful photo frame. Composed by the statue of Giordano Bruno in front of bright violet Wisteria flowers.
These flowers are known for their cascading clusters of fragrant, violet flowers. These are flowers which bloom in spring and are often seen draping over walls, pergolas, or arches. Especially in historic cities like Rome. With the blue sky up above, this made the perfect photography backdrop!

We then ventured to the Roman forum seen from the above Piazza del Campidoglio terrace, capturing in photos a perfect blend of history and togetherness. With ancient ruins stretching into the distance, the iconic setting added timeless charm to the snapshots. The elevated perspective from the terrace beautifully framed the family, highlighting both their connection and the breathtaking backdrop of the most historic landmark.

After exploring the Roman Forum, we took a leisurely walk to the Colosseum, one of the most iconic landmarks. We walked through the Imperial forum on via dei Fori Imperiali. And took some group portraits along the way. Finding the perfect background in an ancient roman column capital. The dramatic architecture provided a stunning backdrop for photos.
When we reached the Colosseum we shot some walking pictures on a cobblestone alleyway with the Colosseum as background. Trying to find the perfect moment of fun interactions to stop in photography. Then we moved over to a nearby hill with a unique view over the Coliseum for the last set of portrait pictures!
